Dylan’s Down With The Arts Theater Camp

Ages: 8+
Spend a week singing, dancing, and creating skits with friends of all ages! Open to individuals with special needs and typical peers. All week leads up to our big Friday night stage performance! Participants should complete the online Participant Assessment Form prior to camp.

Summer Teen Musical Theater Intensive

Ages: 12-19
Looking for a summer class for teens that are serious about performing arts? This is it! Work with the area’s leading professionals in this highly challenging and fun summer intensive for teens. Students will learn challenging choreography, sing great harmonies, and learn songs and scenes from their favorite musicals, all while furthering their musical theater craft. This intensive will end in a showcase. Students should come dressed to move (dance shoes recommended).

Advanced Improv Frenzy & Improv Frenzy

Ages: 9-19
Parker Theatre Academy's summer improv camp is a fun, fast-paced, and exciting jump into the world of improv! Students will learn the basics of improv, including "Yes, and…" trusting your instincts, teamwork, "group mind," and the importance of listening. Students will learn the tools to play strong characters and develop good scene work, all through the power of play! Students will learn classic improv games, as well as exercises that build confidence in both performing arts and life. This camp is a great fit for all experience levels. Students will perform for friends and family the last hour on Friday.

Summer Show Choir

Ages: 8-18
In this Show Choir, participants will learn extensive harmonies, vocal arrangements, and choreography to some of musical theater’s best show-stoppers! Students should come dressed to move (dance shoes recommended.)

Create A Play

Ages: 8-13
Campers will create a script based on a concept of their choosing and write, rehearse, build sets, create costumes and perfect their new story to be performed for parents and friends at the end of the week. Campers will have fun utilizing their creativity as they explore the rehearsal and performance techniques used by high school and professional actors. The curriculum has been developed to provide a safe, fun, and supportive environment to help participants grow in confidence and learn valuable skills that transfer to everyday life. Students should bring a peanut-free lunch and water bottle each day to camp.

KidStage: Play-A-Day

Ages: 4-7
Each day the kids will have fun playing games, learning about a different play, and performing short scenes from the play. This is a great way for kids to explore the world of theater and build basic theater skills while having tons of fun! (Monday: Mulan / Tuesday: Trolls / Wednesday: Moana / Thursday: Toys). On Friday, students will show off what they learned in a short showcase held in the classroom at 11:30 a.m.

KidStage Stars: Brave

Ages: 8-12
Merida, a Scottish princess who enjoys archery and horseback riding, is told by her mother that her interests are not what a princess should be doing and that she has to marry. But Merida chooses to defy both her mother and tradition and change her fate. Merida follows the ancient forest wisps to seek help from an eccentric witch, who grants her an ill-fated wish. Along with her brothers, and trusted dog and horse, Merida must discover the true meaning of courage and undo a beastly curse before it's too late. All campers will be cast as a character in the play. The performance will be on Friday at 3:00 p.m.

Bumps, Cuts & Bruises:  A course in wound makeup and stage combat   

Ages: 13-18
Parker Theater Academy presents a crash course in how to apply wound makeup and how to act out delivering those wounds through stage combat.  Students will learn how to properly apply stage make-up and learn basic stage combat and French-style sword fighting. Students will be encouraged to incorporate their makeup into the fight choreography. The last class, family and friends will be invited to see the finished products.  Students are asked to purchase a Bruises, Bumps, Blisters and Burns make-up kit through PTA that they will take home. A $35 materials fee is payable to the instructor.

Parker on Broadway

Ages: 8-14
Come join the musical theater professionals at Inspire Theater Company and experience musical theater just like Broadway! Students will build skills in singing and acting while exploring songs, choreography, and scenes from Broadway musicals. Students will learn how to create characters while singing and moving with confidence! The camp will end in a showcase on Friday. Students should come dressed to move (dance shoes recommended).

KidStage Super Stars: Harriet Patter and the Sorcerer’s Soda

Ages: 10-14
Join KidStage Super Stars for a new and exciting full day camp! Harriet Patter, a normal and somewhat neglected 11-year-old, discovers suddenly that she is a wizard. Journey with her as she starts her magical education, makes friends, and discovers the secrets of the legendary Sorcerer's Soda in this hilarious wizard parody. The story is full of classic characters, magic and self-discovery. Actors will get to delve into character development and work on props throughout the week. The camp is perfect for the older, more experienced actor who is ready to take the next step! All campers will be cast as a character in the play. The performance will be on Friday at 2:00 p.m.

Ages: 8-12
What happens when the door of the playroom closes? Join all your favorite toys from the Army Men to the Potato Heads and find out what goes on when your child leaves the room and the toys are left to their own devices. Follow Sally, the vintage cowgirl, as she comes face to face with the newest, most technologically advanced toy, Sammy Spaceman. Consumed with jealousy, Sally and her pals do everything they can to ditch Sammy only to realize that the only way they can get back home is if they work together. All campers will be cast as a character in the play.  The performance will be on Friday at 3:00 p.m.
